Overview

To ensure that the appropriate due diligence, food and feed safety and quality assurance systems are operating effectively through the use of an internal and supplier audit process.   To contribute to the continuous improvement processes through participation in the HACCP food and feed safety teams with the emphasis on an effective implementation of the manufacturing pre-requisite programme.

 

The Role

The Quality Assurance Technician is a member of the factory technical team reporting to the Quality Assurance Manager. This role is part of a 12 strong technical and laboratory team.  The role holder will need to build a strong, collaborative and trusting working relationship with the technical, manufacturing and internal audit teams.  Strong relationships with the customer facing technical teams at Head Office and the wider supply functions at different sites are required.

Duties will include:

  • Delivery of effective internal and supplier audits
  • Management of associated non-conformances and corrective actions
  • Complaint investigation and reporting
  • Document management

 

Key Performance Measures:

  • Audit delivery on-time and in full
  • Compliance to quality standards within audits
  • Complaint investigation and resolution within agreed time scales
  • Accurate up to date documents

 

The Person

  • Minimum 5 years work experience in a technical supervisory or management role within the food industry (and preferably dairy).
  • Experience with food and feed safety management systems and with dealing with customer audits and external certification audits (eg. BRC, ISO22000, PAS220, ISO9001, UFAS, FEMAS)
  • Qualifications: Lead Auditor Preferred but internal auditor as minimum requirement
  • Minimum basic HACCP or equivalent
  • Experience of electronic document management and audit systems
